PRESTON, IDAHO JOE HICKLE
PRESTON- Robert Joseph (Joe) Hickle, 49, returned to his Heavenly Father on Dec. 30, 2010, at IMC Hospital in Murray, Utah, due to a lingering illness. He was born May 17, 1961, in Ely, Minnesota, the son of James Ivan Hickle and Patricia Mary Schermerhorn.
Joe had a zest for life. He was an avid musician. He appreciated music and loved to play the guitar. One of his favorite past times was playing, teaching and watching all kinds of sporting events. He was very artistic and enjoyed making wire art Christmas decorations. He worked with his father-in-law for many years with Curb-It concrete edging. He was known and revered as being a selfless, kind and loving giant.
His family was his passion, always coming first. His grandchildren were his light and he was delighted anytime they were around. Joe was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings including scouting, Elder's Quorum and as a home teacher.
He is survived by his loving wife, Julie Hickle of Preston; two sons and a daughter, Brett (Tish) Evans, Rick (Amber) Evans, Melissa (Greg) Batelaan; grandchildren, Mikey, Robert, Jandalynn, Kayla, Jordan, Afton, Chloe and Trent; his parents, James Hickle and Patricia Smith; parents-in-law, Robert and Janice Jorgensen; two brothers and a sister, Rick Yount, Jim Hickle and Vicky Hickle; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jay (Lori) Jorgensen, Dale (Shawna) Jorgensen, Launa (Steve) Jaramillo, Pyne Jorgensen, Mary (Richard) Hansen; and by many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Blair Jorgensen.
The family would like to thank the hospitals, doctors and staff at the Franklin County Medical Center, Logan Regional Hospital and the Intermountain Medical Center. Donations to assist with medical/funeral expenses may be made to Lewiston State Bank.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home's new location, 1005 South 800 East, Preston. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home and Saturday from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. also at the mortuary. Interment will be in the Clifton, Idaho Cemetery.
