JoAnne Whitney Brewster

Our wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother JoAnne Whitney Brewster, 90, of Preston, Idaho left this earth on January 24, 2023, holding the hand of her loving Grandson, Gordon Brewster. JoAnne was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Loren E. Brewster, her granddaughter, Whitney L. Powell, and her daughter, Evelyn M Storts. Her memory lives on through those she left behind, and is survived by two sons and two daughters; Loren E. Brewster Jr., Frank Brewster, Katherine Bohlender, and Rae Jean Powell, and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
JoAnne was dedicated to her studies after high school and well into her mature adult life. She always had a yearning and love for knowledge. She spent over 14 years dedicated to her studies as a secretary and in accounting and bookkeeping. JoAnne was happily married to her husband Loren for 50 years, and during that time she raised 5 children, worked, sang in the Church choir, and taught Sunday School. She was a decorated member of the American Homemaker’s Associate, and there is no wonder why, she was an advanced seamstress, baker, and skilled at needle craft. Like many women of her time, JoAnne was loving, caring, compassionate, witty, sarcastic, and dedicated to her family and community. Out of her many hobbies, her favorite pass time was visiting with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, both near and far. JoAnne was known to knit or crochet baby booties, and embroider blankets for her grandchildren and great grandchildren, have cookie baking parties in her kitchen, read books, play puzzles, garden, feed the wildlife and go walking. JoAnne’s energy and light was always so contagious, she always brought a smile to anyone’s face, especially with her delicious cookies!
To honor JoAnne’s memory, we are holding a celebration of their life on Monday, January 30, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 S. 800 E. Preston, Idaho. A visitation will be held prior to the celebration from 10-10:45 a.m. We invite anyone who knew her to attend and remember her wonderful life with us. Interment will be in the Preston Idaho Cemetery.
