Fairview, Idaho - - - - JoAnn H. Schulthies
Fairview - JoAnn Hall Schulthies slipped peacefully away to join her eternal sweetheart, Byron, on Thursday, July 25, 2013, in the Salem Hospital, Salem, Oregon. JoAnn was born to Joseph and Annie Hall on February 1, 1932, in Blackfoot, Idaho. She grew up in Nampa, Idaho and graduated from Nampa High and attended Ricks College and BYU Academy. While a student at Ricks, she was a cheerleader with her twin brother Danny (Leo). At age 20, she was asked to speak in Sunday School and coincidently Byron was asked to speak at the same meeting. She caught his eye and the rest is history. JoAnn and Byron were sealed For Time and All Eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on December 2, 1953. They were married just shy of 59 years before Byron's death on August 22 of 2012.
JoAnn and Byron were blessed with 11 children, 42 grand children, and thus far, 12 great grand children. JoAnn loved her husband Byron and her family dearly. She loved her Heavenly Father, attending her church meetings, serving the Lord, sewing, listening to church tapes and spending time with her family. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, JoAnn served faithfully in her church callings, among them, the primary, Relief Society Teacher, the Relief Society Presidency, and the wife of a Bishop, which is a calling in itself. She and Byron served a full time mission in Trona (San Bernardino) Ca. While there she touched the hearts of many souls and brought them to the gospel with her Christ like love. She was a valiant and noble daughter of her Heavenly Father in its purest form. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and her loving, thoughtful and gentle nature will be missed by all who knew her, especially by her children. JoAnn suffered through many of life's infirmities, yet she remained a faithful and devoted daughter. She is now free of her earthly body that confined her so much the last many years.
JoAnn is survived by her 11 children, Robin Schulthies (Joanne) of Salem, Oregon; Danette Schroeder of American Fork, Utah; Scott Schulthies of Centerville, Utah; Kim White (Craig) of North Ogden, Utah; Kris Schulthies (Catherine) of Riverton, Utah; Bonnie Jackson (Kelly) of Morgan, Utah; Brad Schulthies (Janie) of Bountiful, Utah; Leisa Child, (Jeff) of Hooper, Utah; Kathy Loveland (Dean) of Preston, Idaho; Kirk Schulthies (Allison) of Neola, Utah; and Diana Anderson (Paul) of Bakersfield, Calif.
