Weston - Joan Benson Rasmussen, 76, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2012 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born June 1, 1935 in Weston, Idaho to G. Dean Benson and Anna V. Stones. She married Howard J. Rasmussen on June 9, 1952 in the Logan LDS Temple. She worked for many years as the school lunch manager for the Jordan School District in Sandy, Utah.
She is survived by three sons and two daughters, Rick J. (Kris) Rasmussen, of Sandy, UT; Roland D. Rasmussen, of West Jordan, UT; Deborah A. (Greg) Garner, of Weston, ID; Russel L. (Betty) Rasmussen, of West Jordan, UT; Desarae (Steve) Holm, of Sandy, UT; 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, two brothers Larry (Connie) Benson, Lynn (Janet) Benson, two sisters Luwaine (David) Roth, and Evelyn (Larry) Ospberg. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son-in-law and one daughter-in-law.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Weston LDS Chapel with Bishop Scott White conducting. A viewing will be held on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East in Preston, and Saturday from 9:30-10:30 at the church in Weston. Interment will be in the Weston Cemetery.
