Jan Dursteler Ransom

Janet “Jan” Dursteler Ransom, 71, passed away July 2, 2022 at the Franklin County Medical Center in Preston, Idaho.  She was born June 22, 1951 in Logan, Utah the daughter of Ronald Arnold and Laura Pullum Dursteler. 

She loved horses and barrel racing.  Horses were the love of her life….a close second was John Wayne! She loved nature and being outdoors.  She was a very hard worker no matter what she did.

She is survived by two daughters, Penny (Darrell) Stewart of Syracuse, Utah; Wendie Johnson of Hyrum, Utah; by seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and by two brothers, Michael (Mary) Dursteler of Newport News, Virginia and Tracy (Desiree) Dursteler of Idaho Falls, Idaho.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald & Laura Dursteler; and by two brothers, Neil Dursteler and Dennis Dursteler.

The family would like to thank those who have helped her so much over the past few years:  Dr. David Beckstead and Staff; Mary Biggs, Shelly Gilbert, Linda Hansen and Shawn & Kari Greaves.

Services will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at noon at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East, Preston, Idaho. The services will be streamed live and may be watched Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. (MST) by clicking on the following link:

  A viewing will be held Wednesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at Webb Funeral Home.  Interment will be in the Whitney, Idaho Cemetery.  Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at webbmortuary.com
