FRANKLIN, IDAHO - - JAMES BALL
FRANKLIN- James Franklin Ball, 76, passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2010, at the Logan Regional Hospital in Logan, Utah. He was born Sept. 13, 1933, in Wichita, Kansas, the son of Harry Ernest and Opal May Moore Ball.
He served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Roberta Ann Odgers in April of 1961 in Stockton, California. She preceded him in death on Nov. 1, 1986. He married Vickie Jean Harris on Aug. 11, 1988, in Carson City, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Oakland California Temple.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and cutting wood. He was a cement mason for 45 years and was very well respected in that trade. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints having served as Sunday School President, Executive Secretary in the bishopric and as High Priests Group Leader. He enjoyed serving in the temple. He was a wonderful father.
He is survived by his wife, Vickie Ball of Franklin; four daughters and four sons, Julie (Timothy) Coffield of Easley, South Carolina; Melody (Shawn) Preston of Sumter, South Carolina; Leslie (Michael) Bindi of Stockton, Calif; Pamela (Michael) Owens of Italy, Texas; Steven (Michelle) Brooke of Boise, Idaho; Christopher (Annukka) Brooke of Alturas, Calif; Patrick (Annette) Brooke of Salida, Calif; Michael (Cara) Brooke of Spanish Fork, Utah; twenty-three grandchildren, and by a sister, Sandy Tabor of Stockton, Calif.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 20, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. in the Franklin Stake Center with Bishop Randy Sharp conducting. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home's new facility, 1005 South 800 East, Preston, Idaho, and Friday from 9:30-10:15 a.m. at the stake center. Interment will be Friday at 2:30 p.m. in the Sandy, Utah Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com
