Preston, Idaho - - - - Ina S. Stocks
Preston - Ina Sharp Stocks, 89, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at the Heritage Home in Preston, Idaho. She and her twin sister were born July 28, 1919 in Mapleton, Idaho the daughters of Joseph Truman and Annie Woodhead Sharp. She married Carol H. Stocks on December 29, 1937 in Logan, Utah and they were later sealed in the Logan Temple.
Ina was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Primary, Relief Society, and Young Women Presidencies along with many other church positions. She loved genealogy work, quilting, gardening, and sewing. She also loved cooking and being with her family. Ina grew up in Cub River until she and Carol were married. They then lived and worked together on their farm in Winder until 1983, when they sold the farm and moved to Preston. Ina has worked hard all of her life and has given much service to her family and friends.
She is survived by five daughters and one son, LaRue (William S.) Palmer of Dayton, ID; Carol Jean (Michael) Jeppson of Bluffdale, UT; Anna Beth (Jimmie D.) Olson of Mink Creek, ID; Linda (Roger) Kennan of West Jordan, UT; Maxine (Rick) Dockstader, of Fairview, ID; and Steven (Brenda) Stocks, of Preston; 36 grandchildren, 112 great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren, and a sister Gladys (Don) Chadwick of Brigham City, UT. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carol H. Stocks, a son, Bruce H. (Echo) Stocks, seven brothers, seven sisters, and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 16, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Preston South Stake Center, 55 East 1st South in Preston. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 East Oneida in Preston and Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Lewiston Cemetery.
