PRESTON, IDAHO IDELLA RANSOM
PRESTON- Idella J. Ransom, 87, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Oct. 10, 2011 of natural causes. She was born in Coulam, Idaho, the oldest of five children, on Sept. 9, 1924, to Jesse and Ruby Jensen Nowling.
She graduated from high school in Clifton, Idaho and married Don Ransom of Cleveland, Idaho, on July 26, 1946. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple.
She worked at Del Monte and managed the Maverick/Ransom store in Preston where she made many life-long friends. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she held various positions in Young Women's, Primary and Relief Society. She loved collecting antiques and dancing. Her greatest joy in life was her family.
She is survived by her children, Lynn (Mary) Ransom; Janet (Kim) Johnson and Kelly (Michelle) Ransom all of Preston; eleven grandchildren, forty-four great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and by one sister, Sherrie Hafer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don, by a stillborn daughter, a granddaughter, a great grandson, her parents, by three sisters, Gloria, Erma and Nona, and by a brother, LaVelle.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. in the Preston Eighth Ward Chapel, 213 S. 200 E., with Bishop Jerry Petterborg conducting. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 8th E., Preston, and Friday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
