Clifton, Idaho - - - Howard M. Price
Clifton - Howard Mordecia Price, 91, died peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, May 12, 2010. Howard was born April 28, 1919 in Wilder, Minnesota to Arthur and Clara Price. He had two older brothers, a sister, and two younger brothers who all preceded him in death. He was always there for them when they needed him.
Howard excelled in school and graduated from Wilder High School in 936. Before another Minnesota winter he headed for California. He spent two years in the US Army. He was a member of the regimental rifle team. Then when World War II began, he served another four years, 2 of which were in England. He married Ruth Marie Hammer on May 20, 1943 in Modesto, California and they lived for 60 years in Paradise, California before retiring to Clifton, Idaho. He thrived on quietly helping people and served for years as a scout master. He was a well respected farmer and enjoyed working outdoors and with his hands. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Ruth, and four children Richard R. (Robin) Price, of Sacramento, CA; Joanne R. (Glenn) Williams, of Provo, UT; John L. Price of California, and Susan (Blake) Atkin, of Clifton, ID; 19 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son Robert, and one grandson Remi Price.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clifton LDS Chapel. Arrangements are being handled by Webb Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Oxford Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com.
