Pocatello - Harry Hughes Woolley, 92, passed away on Thursday, June 25, at his daughter's home in Nampa, Idaho. He was born on December 18, 1916 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Tom and Lottie Caroline Taylor Woolley. He married Sylvia Hurlbut on October 21, 1936 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.

Harry loved golf, golf, and more golf and a little fishing. He was a Utah State cycling champion three times and qualified for the 1936 Olympics but was unable to due to appendicitis. He was very involved with the LDS Church and served in various callings as a Sunday School teacher, Gospel Doctrine Teacher, temple worker, High Councilman, was president of the Ward Seventy group, and at the age of 90 was still a faithful home teacher. He also served in the US Navy during WWII.

He is survived by his children, Roger (Louise) Woolley, of Preston, ID; Gordon (Gayle) Woolley, of Driggs, ID; Sylvia (Russell) Pool, of Nampa, ID; and Michael (Linda) Woolley, of Layton, UT; 17 grandchildren, and 36 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his dear wife Sylvia, and a grandson.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 3, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Alameda 3rd Ward Chapel, 954 E. Walnut (corner of Walnut and Jefferson), in Pocatello with Bishop Douglas Alley conducting. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 East Oneida in Preston, and Friday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church in Pocatello. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery at approximately 2:30 p.m. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com.
