Gordon Wayne Sidwell

Gordon Wayne Sidwell passed away on May 20th, 2014, doing what he loved with those he loved and called his sons, in an ATV accident. He was born January 10, 1958 to Ray and Alice Sidwell, in Ogden, Utah. Gordon was 3rd of five children. He was a 1976 graduate of Preston High School. In October of 1978 he met his match, Diana Clements. They were united in married on January 19th, 2014, in Preston, Idaho. Gordon and Diana have three children. First born was Adam Wayne on July 5th, 1980. Then they welcomed Brady Lamar on November 9th, 1984. Last but not least, was their daughter Lyndsey on April 3rd, 1987.

Gordon loved anything to do with the outdoors. He loved going hunting, fishing and camping. If he wasn't camping or fishing himself he would join those that were. You could always expect to see "Dad". He loved to go on rides whether it was by boat, four-wheeler, truck or a snowmobile. He was always on the move with his riding companion Hootch. He loved spending time with his children; his family meant the world to him. The demolition derby became a Sidwell tradition in which he ran for over 28 years. His sons were very involved in the derby with him and later joined with him and his famous exhaust stack. Gordon loved his extended family of those he called his very own and will be missed dearly.

He was preceded in death by his mom and dad, nephew Johnathon Sidwell, niece Amy Jo Neilson, and his nephew Derik Neilson, great nephew Tyler Peisley. He is survived by his wife Diana; three children Adam (Goldie Chaney), Brady (Jessie Beckstead) and Lyndsey; two brothers Edward (Vernette Rogers) and John; two sisters Laurie (Phillip Neilson) and Cathy (Tim Headworth); and seven grandchildren Kourtney, Shelby, Chevy, Dalton, Brock, Madison and Haydenn. He is also survived by his mother and father-in-law, Lamar and Shirley Clements; brother and sister-in-laws Cathy Clements, Mark and Nancy Miller and Wade Clements; and numerous friends and family including nieces, nephews and those who call him DAD.
