Preston - Gloria Sine Nelson Jensen, 85, passed away Sunday, 12 December 2010 at the Franklin County Transitional Care Center in Preston, Idaho. She was born 15 January 1925 in Mink Creek, Idaho to Oscar and Hedvig Jespersen Nelson. Gloria married Reed P. Jensen on 6 November 1944. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan Temple in 1945. They spent 66 years together.

Gloria grew up in Mink Creek. She loved to ride her horse and play with the animals on the farm. She married Reed Jensen, who was also from Mink Creek. They made their home in Mink Creek, where they raised their seven children on the farm. Later they moved to Preston where they have been the last 35 years. She was a hard worker and was always willing to help with the work on the farm as well as running the house. She had a green thumb and grew a large garden, working diligently to preserve the produce for the coming years. Her yard was adorned with many beautiful flowers. She held several jobs around the county to help supplement the farm income.

Gloria was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all her life. She held many callings in Relief Society, Primary, and Young Women. She and Reed were dance directors in the church for many years and helped numerous young people learn how to dance. She and Reed were temple ordinance workers at the Logan Temple for about 12 years.

One of Gloria's greatest loves was music. She learned to play the piano at a young age. She played clarinet in the Mink Creek School band. She taught music at the Mink Creek School for several years. She loved to dance. She and Reed would go to the weekly dances around the area. She also shared her musical talents in singing, leading music, and playing the piano and organ throughout her life.

Gloria is survived by her husband, Reed, and six of their seven children. Don (Carol) Jensen of Mountain Home, ID; Sue (Aaron) Kreger of Meridian, ID; Bart (Laraine) Jensen, of West Valley City, UT; Kevin Jensen of Salt Lake City, UT; Pamela (Brian) Larson of Ventura, CA; and Randy (Sabina) Jensen of Boise, ID. Gloria has 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Muriel Nye Peterson; a brother, Russell Nelson; a sister Ora Stenberg; her son Timothy, a grandchild, and a great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, 18 December 2010 at 12 noon in the Preston North Stake Center, 310 North State, in Preston with Bishop Jeff Palmer conducting. A viewing will be held Friday from 6 to 7:30 PM at Webb Funeral Home's new location, 1005 South 800 East in Preston, and Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 at the church.
