GEORGIA HYDE POOLE Whitney, Idaho
Georgia was born February 3, 1916, in Metropolis, Nevada, to George Albert Hyde and Bessie Eva Johnson. She passed away on September 18, 2010, in Bountiful, Utah, of natural causes.
She married William Wright Poole on February 21, 1935, in the Logan Temple. They were married 56 years before William's passing on March 31, 1991.
She attended school in Wells, Nevada, Mountain Home, Thatcher and graduated from Preston High School.
She lived in Whitney, Idaho, for 67 years. After suffering a stroke in 2002, she lived in Bountiful, Utah with her daughter and son in law, Maxine and Richard Knight, until 2008 when she was moved to Orchard Cove then Heritage Place in Bountiful.
Active in the LDS church Georgia served in the Primary, Mutual and Relief Society and enjoyed those she served with as well as those she taught in these organizations. Georgia and William served two 18-month missions-Adelaide and Sydney, Australia.
She enjoyed supporting her children and grandchildren in their various activities. She taught her children as she worked along with them, as well as setting a good example and teaching them "to just get doing whatever needed to be accomplished". She enjoyed reading, quilting and attending the Logan Temple. She made beautiful quilts for each of her children and grandchildren. While serving in Australia, she was featured in the newspaper for her quilting skills. She was able to make several quilts which she gave to the sisters there.
She loved attending and watching the BYU athletic teams as well as the Utah Jazz.
Georgia kept a warm, inviting home in which delicious meals were made for her family as well as to her friends and relatives who would come to visit.
Mother was a positive person even through life's challenges. She was always pleasant and happy so you felt better after visiting her.
