BOISE, IDAHO BILL HOBBS
BOISE- George William "Bill" Hobbs, 82, passed away on April 14, 2012, at Complex Care of Idaho in Meridian, Idaho. He was born Nov. 18, 1929, in Preston, Idaho, the son of George and Erma Spackman Hobbs. He served his country in the Army during the Korean War training soldiers how to shoot anti-aircraft batteries " he was a "crack shot".
He married Josephine Peart in 1966. Their marriage was later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple. He was employed for years by Mountain Bell/US West as a telephone engineer. He loved taking care of his family. He was a good husband and father. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in a variety of callings. He enjoyed the outdoors and automobiles. He was a hard worker. Though subject to various hardships in his life, he was not a complainer and was loved and respected by those who knew him. He kept and shared an optimistic outlook that could cheer anyone up. He will be dearly missed by us family and friends who rejoice, however, that his life can now be better.
He is survived by his son, George Robert (Debra) Hobbs of Nampa, Idaho; two step-sons, James (Jackie) Kofoed of Jackson Hole, Wyoming; Lew (Ruth Ann) Kofoed of Monument, Colorado; four grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, and one step-great grand child. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Hobbs.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 20, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East, Preston, Idaho. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home and Friday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. also at the mortuary.
