Pocatello, Idaho - - - Fred H. Seal Jr.
Pocatello - Fred Henry Seal Jr., 79, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2012 at the Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, Idaho. He was born on September 29, 1932 in Enid, Oklahoma to Fred Henry Seal Sr. and Opal Mae Chenoweth. Fred lived in various places during his life but always called Southeast Idaho Home. In 1950 he moved to Grace, Idaho where he met his sweetheart of 60 years, Joanne. He married Joanne Denece Lasley on July 18, 1952 in Grace, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
Fred was a meat market manager for several years and later became a food broker and owned his own marketing business. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in various positions in the Bishopric, as a Scout Leader, High Priest leader and a member of the Ward Choir. Fred loved music and performed with a men's Barber Shop Chorus. He also enjoyed gardening, washing his car, and road trips. He also enjoyed meeting people, and touching many lives. But most of all, Fred's passion was his family.
Fred is survived by his wife Joanne, of Pocatello, ID; his children Randy L. (Terri) Seal, of Idaho Falls, ID; Kristine (Randy) Stewart, of Pocatello, ID; and Nanette (Scott) Evans, of Riverton, UT; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, a brother Joe (Audrey) Seal, of Rancho Cordova, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Mary Seal, and a brother Bill Seal.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the LDS Fairway chapel, 2000 South Fairway, in Pocatello, Idaho with Bishop Rick Excell conducting. A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the church and Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. also at the church. Interment will be in the Grace, Idaho Cemetery at approximately 3:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Webb Funeral Home in Preston, Idaho.
