Fred Dale Huillet, Ph.D.
- Dale was born on August 1, 1928 in Ogden, Utah to Fred George and Paulina Rebecca Huillet. He died March 28, 2013 in Provo, Utah.
- Dale was a lifetime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, to which he was deeply committed. He held many positions in the church, including serving a two-year mission in the Seattle Mission in 1998.
- Dale grew up in Ogden, Utah and Bremerton, Wa. He graduated from Bremerton High School in 1946. He moved to San Diego, enlisted in the U.S. Navy, and served for 2 years. He earned a B.S. degree at Whitman College and a Master's degree at B.Y.U. in 1953. Dale obtained a Ph.D. in Chemistry, with a focus on Environmental Science, at the University of Colorado in 1964.
- Dale worked as a chemist in Colorado and Mississippi. He moved to Camas, Wa. to work for Crown Zellerbach and subsequently worked for the Scott Paper Co. in Everett. He relocated to Saudi Arabia in 1982 to fulfill a 5-year contract with ARAMCO and returned to Wa. State. Dale concluded a long, widely traveled, and distinguished career with a stint at the Boeing Co. and retired in 1992.
- Dale lived in the Snohomish/Marysville area from 1970-2005. He then moved to Provo, Utah.
- Dale enjoyed spending time with his family, fly fishing, camping, traveling, and photography. He devoted significant time and energy to his family and the Church. He was very proud of his family heritage, and spent many hours doing genealogical research.
- Dale was loved deeply and will be missed greatly by his family.
- Dale is survived by his wife Patty; sister, Barbara Huillet; brother, Larry Huillet; Dale's 9 children: Steven (Patricia) Huillet, Lisa (Joseph) Krupla, Brad (Sarah) Huillet, Nancy (Brian) Shaw, Holly (Fred) Locke, Mark (Heather) Keyes, Jim (Kris) Keyes, Rebecca (Larin) Crossley, Adam (Karin) Huillet, 26 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; Patty's 7 children, 33 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren. Dale was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson, Thomas Melton.
- Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 5, 2013, at the Pleasant View Sixth Ward Chapel, 2445 N. 650 E., Provo, Utah. No viewing. Interment will be Friday at 4:00 p.m. in the Preston Idaho Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Dale's name to the Boy Scouts of America.
