OREM, UTAH FRAYNE HOBBS
OREM- Frayne Reginald Hobbs, 82, passed away peacefully at home on June 19, 2011 after a courageous battle with congestive heart failure.
Frayne was born in Franklin, Idaho on September 6, 1928 to Rolla P. Hobbs and Ruby Petterborg. After graduating from Preston High School, he joined the U.S. Army and served in Japan at the end of World War II..
He married the love of his life, Shirley Whitehead, on September 21, 1948 and they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on September 21, 1949. He graduated from LDS Business School in 1949 in Salt Lake City and then began his career as a Human Resources Administrator.
Frayne devoted many hours of selfless service to the LDS Church in various capacities. After retiring, Frayne and Shirley served two full-time missions; the first at the Polynesian Cultural Center in Laie, Hawaii and the second at Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Frayne was known as a people person. He loved his family and every one with whom he came in contact. Throughout is life he enjoyed running and was an avid golfer. He is survived by his wife Shirley of Orem and five children: Brad (Sandy) of Twin Falls, Idaho; Randy of Orem, Utah; Barry (Lorie) of Heber Valley, Utah; Steve (Jan) of Bountiful, Utah; and Pam (Rick) Allenbach of American Fork, Utah; 25 grandchildren and 54 great grandchildren; and his brother Thaylon (Mary Lu) of Idaho Falls, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and sister, Sharee Schenk.
Funeral services for Frayne will be held Friday, June 24, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the LDS Cascade 3rd Ward Chapel, 1051 East 200 North in Orem.
A viewing will be held Thursday, June 23, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Walker-Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North in Orem. A viewing will also be held on the day of the funeral from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the LDS Cascade 3rd Ward building. Services are under the direction of Webb Funeral Home, Preston, Idaho.
