Preston - Florence Elaine Rumsey, 81, passed away September 10, 2009 at the Franklin County Nursing Home in Preston, Idaho. She was born August 28, 1928 in Malad, Idaho to George Chivers and Florence May Reese Tovey. She married Ray Johnson on September 15, 1948. He preceded her in death. She later married William "Bill" Frank Rumsey on March 5, 1954 in Pocatello, Idaho.

Elaine was raised on the family sheep ranch in Cherry Creek. She completed her education in the Malad Schools and lived in Malad, Downey, Preston, and Salt Lake City, Utah.

She is survived by her daughters Raylene (Danny) Meng, of Rigby, Idaho; Terry Talbot (Jim) Putnam, of Preston, ID; May (Steven) Smith, of Blackfoot, ID; and Debbie (Bart) Inglet; of Preston, ID; 17 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers DeVere, Ralph, and Clair Tovey, her husbands Ray Johnson, and Bill Rumsey, a son-in-law Robert Scott Talbot, two grandsons Scotty Talbot and Zachery Meng, and two great grandsons Mayson Cornell, and Alexander Meng.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Preston North Stake Center, 310 North State Street in Preston. Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 East Oneida, and Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
