Franklin, Idaho Eva C. Whitehead
Franklin - Eva Chatterton Whitehead, 93, our mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 10, 2015 at the Franklin County Transitional Care Center in Preston, Idaho. She was born on May 31, 1921 in Franklin Idaho to Wallace LeRoy and Almeda Atkinson Chatterton. She lived her entire life except for three years in Franklin. She married John Hoyet Whitehead on April 26, 1939 in the Logan LDS Temple.
Eva was a wonderful homemaker, spouse, and mother. She labored all her life farming and mink ranching side by side with Hoyet. Through Eva's great faith, she was healed from several severe happenings in her life. She served in many positions in the LDS church. Hoyet and Eva loved to dance at the Gold and Green Balls. Eva was a great mother, teaching her children how to survive on what you have and use it well. Her children all learned to grow a great garden and live from the land. Eva and Hoyet loved to travel and took many trips and cruises all over the world.
She is survived by her children Jerry (Sherron) Whitehead; Wynn (Deb) Whitehead; Nancy (Jerry) McPheeters; and Ted (Bev) Whitehead; 15 grandchildern, 43 great grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law Kathryn Whitehead.
