Weston, Idaho - - - Ethan Q. Haslam
Weston - Ethan Quire Haslam, 23 months, was granted his angel wings on October 24, 2011. His final days were spent surrounded by family that Ethan had touched in some small way. His small ways left you with a huge appreciation for what you had been blessed with. Due to Spinal Muscular Atrophy, his body movements would be limited, however, his strong inner spirit allowed him to touch your soul.
Ethan's 23 months of life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. His gentle smile, tiny fingers, and baby soft skin, brought so much joy to the family.
Although he was small, he gave us all such courage and hope and reminded us of the preciousness of life. He loved to rock and swing. He would spend hours watching his favorite cartoons and he also enjoyed music and reading stories.
Ethan is survived by his loving parents, Dixon and Christina Haslam, of LaBarge, WY; a brother Jordan; grandparents Walt and Rozanne Povey; and Randy and Catherine Haslam, of Weston, ID; as well as numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his older brother, Norman Gaije, who also passed away due to Spinal Muscular Atrophy.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 28, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East, in Preston.
