Errol Wayne Robinson, formerly of Preston, Idaho died August 1, 2010 in Prosser, Washington. He was born in Downey, Idaho to T. Arnold Robinson and Nettie L. Johnson on November 23, 1923.
After graduating from Preston High School in 1941 he entered the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland in 1942. The next ten years were spent in the Navy. He became a naval aviator in July 1949. Duty included two deployments in the Korean War, aide to two admirals and instructor in the Naval All Weather Flight School, Corpus Christi, Texas.
In June 1955 he started working as an engineer for Boeing in Seattle. He received a Master's Degree in Engineering from the University of Washington. Wayne spent six years on the moon rocket project in Huntsville, Alabama. After returning to Puget Sound the family settled in Fife, Washington.
For many years Wayne was active in leadership roles in the beekeeping Association, Boy Scouts, the Republican Party and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Wayne married Carla Ruth Harris in Beaumont, Texas on June 25, 1946. Their five children include Camille who died in infancy; E. Wayne Jr. (Deanna), Rhea Ann Spears (Brian), Helen Ruth and Carla Rose (Joe Vojir). They also have twelve grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in the family plot in the Richmond, Utah Cemetery on Friday, August 13th at 10:00 A.M. Memorial services will immediately follow at Webb Funeral Home in Preston, Idaho with lunch afterwards. A second memorial service will be held on August 31st at the Latter-Day Saints Ridgecrest building in Puyallup, WA at 2:00 P.M.
