Franklin, Idaho - - - Elva T. Olsen
Franklin - Elva Taylor Olsen, 89, passed away May 15, 2010 at Logan Regional Hospital, one month prior to her 90th birthday. She was born on June 21, 1920 to John Ole and Mary Annorah Perkins Taylor. She married max Weldon Olsen on June 5, 1936 in Soda Springs, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple. He passed away July 4, 2001.
She enjoyed spending time outdoors doing activities such as hunting, fishing, and camping. She enjoyed coaching the girls softball team and they brought home many trophies. She enjoyed reading and doing beautiful handwork making such things as crocheted afghans, dolls, and hot pot holders. She also did beautiful embroidery work. She also enjoyed working in her beautiful rose garden.
She was a member of the Women's Riding Posse for many years. She also enjoyed church and the many friends she made there. Her family meant a lot too her and she loved when the grandchildren came to visit.
Elva is survived by her three children LouDean (Ray) Murray, of Richmond, UT; Peggy Sue (Wayne) Priestley, of Franklin; and Val (Jolynne) Olsen, of Franklin; eight grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Max, and three grandchildren, three brothers, and five sisters.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at 12:00 noon in the Franklin Stake center with Bishop Lynn Womack conducting. A viewing will be held Wednesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Stake Center. Interment will be in the Franklin Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Webb Funeral Home in Preston.
