Elma Nelson Krogue passed away July 4, 2016 in North Logan, Utah.
Elma was born August 22, 1922 in Bloomington, Idaho. She is the second child of Eudora Thressa and LoVern Nels Nelson. On January 19, 1942 she married, the boy next door, Mayo James Krogue in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Mother always spoke fondly of her parents, grandparents, and siblings: William LaVan, Rosamond, Mary Jean, Beryl, Delos James, and Roy Nelse. From childhood forward, family always seemed to be Mother's most valued treasure.
Her favorite work and pass time was digging in the dirt. She loved raising a vegetable garden and raspberries. Flowers always adorned her homes in Bloomington and North Logan. Elma was a friend to animals; cats, dogs, rabbits, birds, and the registered Jersey milk cows, which grazed around our childhood home in Bloomington, Idaho. Although friends, she rarely invited animals into her well ordered home.
Mother is firm in her faith in God. She loved teaching children and youth about Heavenly Father and Jesus. While our parents served in the California Fresno Mission, they taught many children of Hmong ancestry. In a Sacrament Meeting talk during that time Dad stated, "Sister Krogue has been a great companion not only for the time we have been on our mission, but for nearly 53 years. She has been really faithful and understanding.”
Mother cherished her membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and she served in many callings throughout her life.
She is survived and adored by many nieces, nephews, and their children; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Jean Wright; and a brother-in-law, Rexford Rovig.
Her sons, Marlo J. (Jill), Elmo Dean (Barbara), and Don Lynn are grateful for her nurturing care. Grandchildren and great grandchildren knew Grandma loves them; Jason (Chani), daughter Tayzlee, Justin (Elizabeth), daughter Hinley, Jaron, Kristin (Wesley) Fredrickson, daughter Evie, and Nelson.
