Preston - Ellen June Talbot Handy, 83, passed away Monday, November 23, 2009 in Preston, Idaho at the Franklin County Medical Center. She was born on June 13, 1926 in Winder, Idaho to Henry Leon and Alice Naomi Seamons Talbot. She married Elmer Dean Handy on June 19, 1959 in the Logan Temple.

June was a member of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary and was active with the VFW ladies auxiliary as well. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved genealogy, history and missionary work. She enjoyed attending the temple while her health permitted and loved her family and the time spent either with them or talking to them. She loved pictures and never missed an opportunity to take a photo. She was a great cook and loved to play games.

She is survived by her children William Handy, of Preston; Daren Dean Handy, of Preston; three grandchildren Shannette (Viliamu) Sefita, of Washington, UT; Matthew W. (Christina) Handy, of Pocatello, ID; and Michelle Handy of Bountiful, UT; four great grandchildren Andres Romero, Davin Griffith, and Trent and Claudia Handy, and baby Sefita (still on the way); five sisters Gwen Gregerson, Dona Sayer, Audrey Vail, Dora Oxborrow, and Janis Thatcher, three brothers Eugene Talbot, Kenneth Talbot, and Neil Talbot; and Janet Wilkinson, (div daughter-in-law.) She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dean, and three brothers Henry Leon Talbot Jr., Keith Talbot, and Gary Talbot.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 12:00 noon in the Preston 10th Ward Chapel, 155 North 200 West in Preston with Bishop Mike Andrus conducting. A viewing will be held Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 East Oneida in Preston, and Saturday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Franklin Cemetery.
