Eli Bennett Sadler

Eli Bennett Sadler, 24, passed away on July 17, 2024, at McKay Dee in Ogden, UT after a long struggle with his mental health. He was born on February 4, 2000 in Logan, Utah, to Corey Sadler and Katrina Stokes. He was the youngest child with both an older brother and sister. 

Eli grew up in Preston. He spent much of his time playing outside, riding bikes, and climbing trees. Eli was a voracious reader who often read far above his grade level. Eli participated in the scouting program during his younger years. He had many scout leaders that he loved spending time with and learning about knives, knots, and hearing their war stories. He also loved to play video games. 

While in high school he participated in the football and wrestling programs where he gained many lifelong friendships. Eli had many jobs, one of which was working at Hobbs Turf Farm in high school. He spent many long, hot, and dirty hours stacking sod and laughing with his coworkers More recently, he worked at Franklin County Medical Center. Eli enjoyed his time there and especially enjoyed the many people he got to know. He took great pride in keeping the hospital clean for those who spent time there. He was very smart, tender-hearted, and deeply protective of those he cared for. He always wanted to make people laugh and had a joke and a smile for all he met. He will be deeply missed. 

Eli is survived by his father, Corey Sadler of Preston, ID; by his mother, Katrina Stokes of Preston, ID; by a brother and sister, Zacary Sadler and Emmy Sadler of Preston, ID; grandparents Sherman and Ladene Stokes of Idaho Falls, ID; grandfather Melvin Sadler of Cove, UT and so many aunts, uncles and cousins. Eli is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Lynda Sadler; uncle, David Stokes; and cousin, Jonathan Sadler. The family would like to thank the staff at McKay Dee for their tender care of Eli. We will be forever grateful. 

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at 11 am at the Preston East Stake Center, 310 N State, Preston, ID. Viewings will be held Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 S 800 E, Preston, ID and Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the stake center. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
