Preston - Edith Peterson Hansen, 79, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 14, 2011 at the Franklin County Transitional Care Center in Preston, Idaho. She was born on March 31, 1932 in Delta, Utah to Oscar Carl and Grace Ivy Peterson. She was the fourth child of six. She married Samuel Duane Hansen on Sept 6, 1949. They raised a family of 12 children.
She enjoyed being with family, working in the yard, fishing and camping, and hanging out.
She is survived by her children, Janet Crandall, of Georgetown, ID; Randy (Peggy) Hansen, of Eden, ID; Sandra (Lonney) Smith, Soda Springs, ID; Susan (Lyle) Goodsell, of Preston; Renee (Mike) Hillyard, of Preston; Gary Hansen, of Preston; Denise (Todd) Turner, of Brant, MI; David (Rachel) Hansen, Wellington, KS; Kristine Hansen, of Edgley, ND; Steven (Amy) Hansen, of Wendell, ID; Penny (Jeff) Beus, of Payette, ID; 43 grandchildren, 74 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She is also survived by one daughter-in-law Gail Hansen. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 52 years, a son Kurtis, and two grandchildren Angela Jensen and John Goodsell.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 19, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Preston South Stake Center, 55 East 1st South in Preston. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East in Preston and Friday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
