Dwayne Noble Monson

Dwayne Noble Monson aka “Papa Goofy” of Preston, Idaho passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014, due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident the previous week.  He was born Oct. 21, 1960, in Pasadena, California to Reed Stanley and Dorothy Ann Phelps Monson. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and by a sister, Denise Monson.  He is survived by his children, Sarah Andrea Monson of Logan, Utah; Daniel William (Maurie) Monson of Preston; Nicole Avery of Colorado;  by a brother, David Monson of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and by two sisters, Darlene Horwith of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Jeana Kromer of Pennsylvania.  He is the grandfather of eight grandchildren- the same kids who coined him “Papa Goofy”. 

Family and friends were the most important thing in the world to him.  He loved nothing more than putting smiles on people’s faces- whether he knew them or not.  Rock n’ Roll was his passion along with the freedom and peace he felt taking rides on his motorcycle.  What made him the happiest was being able to see his kids shine through his example, grow up and succeed.  We love you Dad.  “Rock Steady”

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South, 800 East in Preston, Idaho with Bishop Kip Rawlings conducting.  Friends may call Tuesday from 1-1:45 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home.  Interment will be in the Clifton Idaho Cemetery.  Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com
