Dwayne Lovell Mendenhall

Dwayne Lovell Mendenhall, 79, passed away January 9, 2024, in Soda Springs, Idaho.  He was born March 9, 1944, in Soda Springs, Idaho, the son of Lovell James and Jennie McClellan Mendenhall.

He married Ruth Ann Caress on July 25, 1964, and they were sealed in the Logan Utah Temple.  He worked at Space Dynamics Laboratory in Logan, Utah for 18 years as a Logistics Supervisor.  He traveled all over the country with this responsibility.  He also enjoyed farming and ranching, which he did all of his life.  He mentored many young college students while at Space Dynamics Lab and also many youth working with them on the farm.  He blessed many lives as he taught and mentored many.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints having served in numerous callings.  He especially enjoyed serving in the Elder Quorum presidency, as an Elders Quorum instructor, and as a High Priest Quorum assistant.  He loved his family and enjoyed being around his grandchildren!

He is survived by his wife, Ann Mendenhall of Grace, Idaho; by a daughter, Janet (Stephen) Cattani of Ogden, Utah; by two sons, Steve Dwayne Mendenhall of Soda Springs, Idaho; Paul (Angie) Mendenhall of Grace, Idaho; by 8 grandchildren and by 11 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and by two sisters, Marilyn Mendenhall and Geraldine Smith. 

The family would like to especially thank the caregivers from Enhabit and the Heritage Home Soda Springs for the love, care and thoughtfulness given to Dwayne.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 15, 2024, at noon in the Williams Ward Chapel, 2060 Niter Bench Rd, Grace, Idaho.  Viewings will be held Sunday from 5-7 p.m. and Monday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. both at the church.  Interment will be in the Thatcher Idaho Cemetery.  Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at webbmortuary.com
