Glendale, Idaho - Dorothy LaRae Bailey Owen, 85, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 in Glendale, Idaho. She was born on October 28, 1929 in Pocatello, Idaho to Charles Kerr and Ada Andersen Bailey. She married Lester Owen on October 28, 1948 in The Logan LDS Temple.
Dorothy was a member of the DUP and she served as the historian for 23 years. She was also a camp president. She like to ride motorcycles with her husband and they enjoyed many trips together. She liked boat trips and playing games with her grandchildren. She enjoyed embroidering dish towels and pillow cases and always like making homemade bread and rolls.
She is survived by her children Susanna Owen, of Idaho Falls, ID; Louella (Cornelius) Von Niederhausern, of Tooele, UT; Thomas (Lori) Owen, of Blackfoot, ID; Carl (Roxanne) Owen, of Idaho Falls, ID; Ronald (Lucy) Owen, of Preston, ID; Daniel (Kathy) Owen, of Rexburg, ID; Mark (Kaylene) Owen, of Preston, ID; Darlene (Brett) Downs, of Downey, ID; Eileen Archibald, of Idaho Falls, ID; and Earl (Lynette) Owen, of Elko, NV; 43 grand children and 90 great grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers Steven Bailey, Larry Bailey, and Ralph Bailey. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lester, and a daughter LaRae.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at 12:00 noon in the Preston North Stake Center, 310 North State Street in Preston. A viewing will be held on Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East in Preston and Tuesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the stake center. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
