Dorothy Lynene Larson

On the spring morning of April 13, 1938, a beautiful golden-haired, blue-eyed baby girl, Dorothy Lynene Larson, began the family of Lynn Alma and Dorothy Bench Larson.  Right from the beginning she was full of spunk, as her future siblings can attest!

She spent a few growing years in Wellsville until her family relocated to Preston, Idaho.  She attended the local schools graduating from Preston High School as a straight A student  with the proud graduating class of 1956.  After high school she worked in Salt Lake at the phone company until her marriage to Varnell John Dobson in April of 1960.  They were later divorced.  To this union her two sons, Christopher L and Darren Varnell  were born. 

Lynene was full of talent.  She could sew, paint, decorate...she was an artist in every sense.  She made many friends with her frequent visits to the "DI" searching for antiques.  She could see beauty in what some would consider junk.  She brought  these "treasures" home with the idea of restoration. 

She was a friend to all and dearly loved her family, especially her two sons and three precious grandchildren.  They were her entire life.

She left this earthly life on March 19, 2015 to reunite with loved ones gone before. 

She is survived by her two sons:  Chris and Darren; three grandchildren:  Dustin, Brooklyn and  Hailey; siblings: Rodney (Linda) Larson, Patricia Gyllenskog, Debbie Woytko and Melanie (Stewart) Bastian; a sister-in-law, Betsey Larson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Richard; brother-in-law, Dan B Gyllenskog and a life-long friend and soul mate, Dav Frew. 

She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 12:00 noon at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East in Preston. A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home and Wednesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
