Preston - Donna Eames, Noyes, 95, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 4, 2011 at the Heritage Home in Preston, Idaho. She was born on July 24, 1915 in Preston, Idaho to Aerial Guy and Flora Edna Geddes Eames, the oldest of six children. She married Oral Von Noyes on June 14, 1939 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They bought the George Carver farm north of town where Donna was born and she has resided in that home until four months before her passing. Donna and Von had five children.

After graduation from high schcool, Donna attended Utah State Agricultural College for two years. Her junior and senior years she attended the University of Idaho in Moscow, where she received her B.S. degree in Education. She taught English, Home Economics, and Music for two years in Declo, and one year in Soda Springs. In 1965 she returned to Utah State and received her Library Certificate. She was librarian in Preston High School for about thirteen years before retiring in 1980.

Donna was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many different callings. She spent much time doing genealogical work and worked in the genealogy library in Preston for a number of years. She worked in the Farm Bureau and organized a square dance club where, for many years, she taught square dancing. She loved to read and she always enjoyed music. She learned to play piano and organ when young and spend many hours sharing these talents with others. She played the organ in sacrament meetings and Relief Society into her nineties. She was a beloved grandma and loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed having family birthday parties and celebrating holidays together.

Donna is survived by her children, Edith Smith, of Preston; Marian (Ofelio) Muniz, of Harlingen, TX; and David (Marsha) Noyes, of Preston; 20 grandchildren, 60 great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren; sister Edna Denning of Idaho Falls, ID; and a brother Aerial Eames, of Wenatchee, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Von, a daughter Diane Noyes, a son Stephen Eames Noyes, two grandsons, Edward Lumbreras and Evan Noyes, a sister Veda Babb, and two brothers Than and George Eames.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at 12:00 noon in the Preston 3rd Ward LDS Chapel, 155 North 200 West, in Preston. A viewing will be held Tuesday from 6-7 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home's new location 1005 South 800 East, in Preston and Wednesday from 10-11:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com.
