PRESTON, IDAHO DONALD KOFOED
PRESTON- Donald Stephens Kofoed 91, passed away on August 4, 2012 in Preston, Idaho
in the family home where he was born on August 8, 1920. He was the ninth of
eleven children born to Arnold Quigley and Etna Stephens Kofoed.
He lived his entire life in Franklin County and worked for various farmers.
He managed the church farm in Dayton and always had an interest in the land.
In his later years he enjoyed driving in the country and seeing the progress
of the crops each year.
He married Thelma Lloyd on May 7, 1940 in Malad, Idaho and their marriage
was later solemnized in the Logan Temple.
Don was a High Priest and held various church callings. One he remembered
fondly was serving with his wife as dance directors.
After Thelma passed away on November 12, 1997 he spent many hours in his
wood shop making and sharing his wood creations.
He loved horses and at the age of 80 was still riding a horse and hunting
with his son and grandsons. When he could no longer ride, he obtained
miniature ponies and spent many enjoyable days driving them and riding in
the cart.
He is survived by one sister Theda Haeger, his children: Dilean (Lorin)
Burnett of Paradise,Ut; Beverly (Garth) Hebdon , fulltime RV'rs and Donald
Ray (Nonavee) Kofoed of Preston, Idaho, 17 grandchildren, 45 great
grandchildren and 17 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, nine brothers and sisters and infant
twins.
Funeral services will be held on Wed, Aug. 8, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. in the Preston Seventh Ward Chapel, 155 N. 2nd W., Preston, Idaho, with Bishop Jeff Elgan conducting. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 S. 800 E., Preston, Idaho and Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
