PRESTON, IDAHO - - DOLORAS WHITE
PRESTON- Doloras Ann Martin White, 105, beloved by all her family and friends, passed away on Oct. 29, 2012, at the Franklin County Transitional Care Center in Preston, Idaho.
She was born Oct. 16, 1907, in Preston, Idaho, the daughter of Bessie and Burton Martin. She was the oldest of seven children, who have all preceded her in death. Although she was 105 years old, she continued to enjoy good health, was active, and able to enjoy her family and good friends. She enjoyed working in her yard, knitting and crocheting.
She married Howard H. Johnson in 1925 in the Logan Utah Temple. She enjoyed a wonderful 50 years working alongside him in running the Johnson Hotel and Plaza Motel in Preston, Idaho. They enjoyed traveling in the United States and Europe until his death in 1975. They had two daughters and their youngest daughter, Karen Swainston Schofield, preceded her in death.
Her second husband, Clarence (Tug) E. White, whom she married in 1980, also preceded her in death. They had known each other in high school and enjoyed 19 wonderful years of traveling together in Africa, China, Germany and many parts of the USA. They spent many winters in Laguna Beach, California enjoying the company of Doloras' oldest daughter, Venis Johnson Carlson. When not traveling, they spent summers in Preston.
She is survived by her daughter, Venis Johnson Carlson of Meridian, Idaho; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, a great-great grandchild, and by Tug's two daughters, Barbara Bertonneau and Karen Dorame and their families.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East, Preston, Idaho. Friends may call Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Webb Funeral Home.
