DeVona Moore

DeVona Christiansen Moore passed away in Preston, Idaho, on December 29, 2017. She was born on March 23, 1928, in Elsinore, Utah, to Loran Peter Christiansen and Marilla Doxford Christiansen.  She was the sixth of nine children.

DeVona married her sweetheart Ward W. Moore on January 14, 1947, in the St. George, Utah, LDS Temple.

DeVona and Ward were blessed with seven children. She was a great example to her family.  She always had time for her children and grandchildren, and made each one feel special.  She was a great listener and gave wonderful advice.

She had many talents including sewing, gardening, cooking, crafts, and took great pride in having a tidy and organized home.  She had a great love for reading.  Mom loved uplifting music. She loved the outdoors and camping.

She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. DeVona served in many callings in the Primary, Relief Society, and Young Womens auxiliaries for the church in Utah, California, and Idaho, and has influenced many lives through her countless acts of kindness and charity.  One of her most rewarding callings was serving as an ordinance worker in the Logan LDS Temple. DeVona had a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ through her love of reading the scriptures.

She is survived by her children: Douglas C (Linda) Moore of Triadelphia, West Virginia;  Jolene Moore of West Jordan, Utah; Roy Dohn (Cheryle) Moore of North Ogden, Utah; Marcia L (Benny) Kendall of Oxford, Idaho; Patti K (Robert) Henry of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; MacKay W (Diane) Moore of Millville, Utah; 15 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren all whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by one sister Darlie (Leon) Hunsaker. She was preceded in death by her husband Ward W. Moore; a son Ray Dean; her parents and three sisters, and four brothers.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2018, at 1:00 pm in the Clifton LDS Chapel, Clifton, Idaho. Prior to the funeral a viewing will be held from 11:30-12:30.  A viewing will also be held Wednesday, January 3, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 S. 800 E., Preston, Idaho. Interment will be in the Oxford Cemetery. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the Heritage Home and Access Home Health Care; and to all who assisted with her care.
