Derek Courtney Anderson

ST. GEORGE, UTAH DEREK C. ANDERSONST. GEORGE- Derek Courtney Anderson died April 29, 2008, unexpectedly at the age of 24. He was born December 21, 1983, in Preston, Idaho, the son of Steven K. and Becky Jo Brown Anderson. He moved to St. George, Utah at the age of 3 and resided there until the time of his death. His proudest accomplishment was getting his Associate's Degree at Dixie State College and had plans of continuing on to get his Bachelor's Degree this fall. He loved playing his bass guitar, writing songs, and jamming with his friends.Derek leaves behind a legacy of always willing to help others in need and a great sense of humor. He loved children and enjoyed spending time with and playing with his nieces and nephews during the holidays and at visits to their homes. He was very family oriented, helping his brothers with anything that he could. The best thing about Derek was the genuine person within- an all-around nice guy. He will be deeply missed.He is survived by his parents, Steven and Becky Anderson, grandpa, Gene Anderson, grandma, Karol Lou, grandma, Helen Brown, two brothers Shane (Alicia) Anderson and Bryan (Julie) Anderson, three nieces and two nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. in the Preston LDS Church , 155 N. 2nd W., Preston with Bishop Phil Abrams conducting.
