Preston, Idaho - - - Deone W. Almond
Preston - There was laughter in Heaven on May 28, 2014 when Deone arrived and started sharing her stories and adventures of life. She was excited to be reunited with her son Val and to see him in his perfected body. We are sure he couldn't wait to thank her for the love and care she gave him in this life. She returned to him as the birthday gift he was waiting for.
Deone was born and raised in Preston, Idaho. She was the daughter of Archie G. and Alavon Larsen Wright. She married John R. Parrish and to this union they were blessed with three children.
Deone had the opportunity to live in several cities in the Western United States and everywhere she went, she added to her bounteous supply of life-long friends. Other people collect things, Deone collected friends.
In 2008 Deone married Howard Almond. He nursed her back to health and they spent six happy years loving and caring for each other in their Winder, Idaho home. Here, she added many more dear friends.
Deone is survived by her husband, Howard Almond, her son Jan Parrish, her daughter Vauchelle (Paul) Price, five beloved grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters, Gloria Lowe, Rawana Griffeth, and Kathy (Kent) Moser, and one sister-in-law LaRee Herzog. She also had many step-children and step grandchildren that she loved as her own. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who all thought they were her favorite. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son ValDean, her husband LaMont Hodges and a brother DeVerl Herzog.
Deone had a difficult life with many challenges but had the gift of making lemons into lemonade. She brought sunshine to every life she entered and will continue to do so eternally.
