Preston - Delmar S. Derricott, 75, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 17, 2011 at the Heritage Home in Preston, Idaho. He was born December 11, 1935 in Bear Lake, Idaho to Wayne S. and Grace Hayes Derricott. He married Sharon Bodily on April 19, 1962 in the Logan LDS Temple.

Delmar was a teacher in Preston for 38 years where he taught speech, drama, and English. He was a forest ranger and loved spending time outdoors. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many different callings. He was a temple worker at the Logan Temple for nine years. Delmar was a avid painter and was one of the original members of the Franklin County Ambulance.

Delmar is survived by his children, Shara (Shawn) McDanel, of Preston; David (Trena) Derricott, of Mantua, UT; Tony (Tara) Derricott, of Rexburg, ID; Bryan (Linda) Derricott, of Tulsa, OK; and Kent (Michelle) Derricott, of Paradise, UT; 22 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Sharon.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Preston 8th Ward LDS Chapel, 213 South 200 East in Preston, with Bishop Jerry Petterborg conducting. A viewing will be held Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home's new location 1005 South 800 East in Preston, and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery. memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com.
