Preston, Idaho David W. OlsonPreston - David William Olson, 77, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2008 at the Franklin County Medical Center in Preston, Idaho. He was born November, 27, 1930 in Virginia, Idaho to Erik W. and Maria Elizabeth Fredrickson Olson. He married Dorothy Allen on June 28, 1963 in McCammon, Idaho. David graduated from McCammon High School in 1949 and was active in athletics and played on the all-star team. He enlisted in the Navy in September 1950 and served aboard the amphibious flag ship USS Mount McKinley. He was in the Far East, in Korea twice, Japan, and Pearl Harbor. He enjoyed golfing, gardening, and flowers. David was known for his honesty and integrity. He is survived by his wife Dorothy, of Preston; his children and their spouses Ronald Reed Wakley, Pleasant Grove, UT; Helen Kekuna, Mililani, Hawaii; seven grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; one brother Evan Olson, of Burley, ID; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Ella Martin. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 26, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 East Oneida, in Preston, with Bishop Blayne Rounds conducting. Friends may call Thursday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery. Condolences may be sent the family at www.webbmortuary.com
