David Clarence Hansen

David Clarence Hansen, 76, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at the Heritage Home in Preston, Idaho.  He was born on May 4, 1938 in Preston, Idaho to W. Deloss and Vera Jane Jensen Hansen.  He married Cheryl Tipton and they had a daughter Julie.  They were later divorced.  He met and married Joan  Fackrell.

Dave attended school in Preston and after high school he served an LDS Mission.  He attended and graduated from Utah State University.  He worked in the aerospace industry as an engineer and later as a computer consultant.  He loved horses and enjoyed playing the piano.

He is survived by his wife Joan, of Preston; a daughter Julie (Matt) Hippley, of Westlake, CA; and step-children Carrie Bancroft of Westminster, CO; Russell Bancroft of Salt Lake City, UT; Steven Bancroft, of Duchesne, UT; and Amy Bancroft of Preston; one grandchild, seven step-grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.  He is also survived by his brother Ross (Karen) Hansen, of Preston; and two sisters Janeal (Lynn) Call, of Alpine, UT; and Kathy (Keith) Griffin, of Preston.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Janet.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fairview 1st Ward LDS Chapel, 165 West 4800 South in Preston with Bishop Kip Rawlings conducting.   A viewing will be held on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East in Preston and Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church.  Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery.  Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com
