Preston, Idaho Curtiss B. WhitingPreston - Curtiss Bradley Whiting, 57, passed away from naturayl causes on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 in Preston, Idaho. He had recently undergone surgery to remove a brain tumor. He was born June 19, 1950, in Riverside, California to George Sylvester and Elaine Brown Whiting. He married Lea Ann Crookston in January of 1980. They were later divorced.He was active in the LDS church and held a calling as a greeter in the Preston 7th Ward. He was employed by Big J's as a fry cook. He enjoyed the outdoors and liked hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed photography and collected matchbox tractors, and cars as hobbies. He also served in the Air Force for 4 years.He is survived by a son, James Curtiss Whiting of Boise, ID; a sister, Tina (Glenn) Smedley of Preston; a brother George (Vickie) Whiting, Panguitch, UT; many nieces and nephews and one grandson Owen Hudson Allen; and his ex-wife Lea Ann Crookston. The family appreciates the special friendship of Scott and Kris Beckstead and Layne and Melinda Harris towards Curtiss. He was preceded in death by his parents.Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 12:00 noon at in the Preston 7th Ward Chapel, 155 North 200 West, with Bishop Phil Abrams conducting. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 East Oneida, in Preston, and Saturday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
