Weston, Idaho - - - Curtis L. Dagley
Weston - Curtis Lee Dagley, a tried and true cowboy finished his last round up on August 19, 2013 in Weston, Idaho. He was born to Kenneth Charles and Willa Geniveve Funke Dagley on Friday the 13th of October in 1944.
Curt was a cowboy 100 years out of his time. His early life was an adventure of catching wild horses, hunting bear and cougars. His life sounds like tall tales from a dime store novel but it was all true. Curt met his wife, Marilyn in college over a little black cat. They married on June 4, 1965 in Newton, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Curt graduated from USU with a degree in range management and animal science. After college, he managed ranches in Texas, Montana, Wyoming, and California. He worked for Moorman Feed Company which brought him back to Utah. He started his life-long dream of a horse ranch with a little grey colt. He took great pride in the horses he raised. His goal was always to raise horses with brains, ability, and good disposition.
He is survived by his Marilyn, his wife of 48 years, his children Maria (Vance) Koppenhafer, of Mancos, CO; Shawn (Larissa) Dagley, of Auburn, WY; Travis (Sha) Dagley, of Ignacio, CO; and SuniLyn (Donavon) Shurtliff, of Weston, ID; 11 grandchildren, and six great grandchildren, as well as his brothers Keith (Pat) Dagley, of Ogden, UT; and Trent (Ashley) Dagley, of Logan, UT. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a grandson Cody Dagley.
