PRESTON, IDAHO COREEN ALDER
PRESTON- Coreen Barfuss Alder, 72, passed away on Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, at her home in Preston. She was born Nov. 17, 1939, in Soda Springs, Idaho, the daughter of Oliver Fredrick and Cora Lester Barfuss. She married T. Bruce Alder on Aug. 19, 1960, in Preston, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints having served as Primary President. She enjoyed gardening. She worked at the Preston Livestock Auction, the Smithfield Livestock Auction and the Plaza Motel. Her favorite pastime was supporting her children and grandchildren in their activities- sports, music, etc.
She is survived by her husband, T. Bruce Alder of Preston; by three sons and one daughter, Kraig (Ronda) Alder, Glenn (Dylynn) Alder, Kelle (Sondra) Alder and Katherine Alder, all of Preston; by ten grandchildren, by a daughter-in-law, Ruby Alder of Preston; and by two brothers and three sisters, Lester (Roene) Barfuss of Bancroft, Idaho; Isabel (Roger) Griffeth of Franklin, Idaho; Rhea (Terry) Bell of Pocatello, Idaho; LaRene (Bob) Grover of Lava Hot Springs, Idaho; and Von Barfuss of Pocatello, Idaho. She was preceded in death by a son, Curtis Alder, by her parents, by a sister, Jan Schmitt; and by a brother, Kim Barfuss.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. in the Whitney Second Ward Chapel, 1444 S. 1600 E., Preston, Idaho. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East, Preston, and Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
