Clyde Ray Noorda, 75, of Lewiston, Utah passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 23, 2025 in Lewiston, Utah surrounded by his wife and four children.
Clyde was born on September 17, 1949 to Leo Simon Noorda and Flometta Cazier Noorda in Ogden, Utah.
As a child, Clyde could be found fishing, restoring old vehicles building go carts and making many memories with his dad and best friend and brother Brent. He and Brent were inseparable. As a family they owned a small automotive repair shop, Leo’s Auto Service, in Corrine and later Brigham City, Utah. They loved being together especially on the “Tar Baby” which was a boat that leaked constantly that was fixed with tar.
He had many jobs as a child milking cows and hauling hay.
He graduated from Box Elder High School and went on to graduate from Utah State University with bachelor’s in mechanical engineering. He then went on to get his master’s in business administration from University of Phoenix in Salt Lake City.
Clyde’s love for life was at an all time high. He was always up for an adventure. He loved skiing, road trips, camping, and riding his motorcycle. Clyde lived by his moto of “work hard and play hard.”
Through all his adventuring, Clyde’s greatest adventure yet was meeting the love of his life Margaret Hunt in the singles ward. They were married in the Salt Lake temple for time and all eternity on April 28, 1983.
Clyde led a very successful career. He spent eight months as an engineer and then was promoted to upper management which took him to many parts of the world.
For Clyde, his passion was horse packing into the Teton Wilderness with his best friend Gary Pearson and kids. He was so proud that all his kids and grandkids caught the bug and look forward to riding into the Tetons every summer. He loved bragging about his grandkids and what great horsemen and horsewomen they are.
Clyde was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
He is survived by his wife Margaret Hunt Noorda. His children, Amy (Jordan) Kite of Rigby, Idaho. Travis (Jessica) Noorda of Pocatello, Idaho. Justin (Whitney) Noorda of Lewiston, Utah. Kyle (Maycee) Noorda of Idaho Falls, Idaho and 14 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother Leo and Flometta Noorda and by his brother, Brent Noorda.
