Provo, Utah - - - Clark V. Johnson
Provo - Clark Voris Johnson, 71, passed away July 25, 2009 at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo, Utah from complications after surgery. He was born May 29, 1938, in Preston, Idaho, the son of Voris E. and Reba Bair. He married Cheryl Geddes in the Logan LDS Temple on June 30, 1961. They were blessed with five children.
He served in many callings in the LDS church, including Scoutmaster, Priest Quorum Advisor, Bishop and High Councilman. He was a professor of Church History and Doctrine at Brigham Young University. Clark and Cheryl served as missionaries in the Mexico City East, Madrid Spain, and Guayaquil Ecuador missions.
Clark is survived by his wife, Cheryl; five children, Jannette (Mark) Salmon of Troy, Alabama, Paul (Marianne) Johnson of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Duane (Lori) Johnson of Las Vegas, Nevada, Chamane (Reid) Monson of Sandy, Utah, and James (Gale) Johnson of Temecula, California, and 32 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and one grandson.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 4, at 10:30 a.m. in the Grandview South Stake Center at 1122 Grand Avenue in Provo, Utah. Friends may call Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the church and Tuesday from 9-10:00 a.m. also at the church. Funeral arrangements are direction of Webb Funeral Home in Preston, Idaho. Interment will be in the Franklin, Idaho cemetery at approximately 3:30 p.m. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com.
