Claire Sharp Newbold age 73 returned home to his Heavenly Father on August 30, 2014 at the Franklin County Transitional Center in Preston, Idaho following a long-term battle with cancer. Claire was born June 19, 1941 to Reo Morris Newbold Sr. and Blanche Elsie Sharp of Riverdale, Idaho.
Claire was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He graduated from Preston High School then served a mission in Kentucky. Later he married Clarissa Virginia Lewis in the Logan Temple for time and all eternity. They were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Melinda Ann Wilkes (Kevin) of Preston, and Collette Loertscher of Montpelier.
Claire is survived by his two daughters, eight grandchildren and one soon to be great grandchild. He is also survived by four brothers and two sisters; Reo Morris Jr., Jeffrey, Van Reo (Merla), Tina Marie, Dory Kim (Denice), and Rean (David). He is preceded in death by his parents, eternal companion, and seven brothers and sisters.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 4 at 12 noon at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East in Preston. A viewing will be held Wednesday, September 3 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home and Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. also at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Whitney Cemetery. The family would like to give a special thanks to the aides, nurses, and staff at the Transitional Center and Hospice for providing the care that Claire needed and received.
