Claire Atkinson

Claire Hall Atkinson, 80, passed from this life on Thursday November 27, 2014 in Preston Idaho. She was born on December 25, 1933 in Garland, Utah to Levi Franklin and Vurlia Godfrey Hall. She was the eighth of nine children.

She graduated from Bear River High School in Tremonton, Utah. She married the love of her life Lynn W. Atkinson on November 30, 1951, in the Logan, Utah temple. They settled on a farm in Clifton, Idaho where they raised their family of six children. Claire was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving as a Primary Teacher, Temple Worker, Primary Secretary, Sunday School Teacher, Genealogist, and a Relief Society President. She was active in the community serving those around her through countless acts of love and friendship. She was a much loved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, touching each life. She loved cooking, crocheting, quilting, reading, and doing family history. After raising their family they moved to Preston, Idaho where she lived the past 26 years. Lynn and Claire enjoyed farming together, vacationing with friends, and making memories with family.

She was loved by family, friends, and all who knew her. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, children, Alleen (Robert) Fish, Malad, ID, Blaine (Brenda), Moreland ID, Ronald (DeAnn), Dayton, ID, Sharlene (Rick) Liesen, Liberty, IL, Scott (Jana), Smithfield, UT, Jay (Theresa), Preston, ID. Sisters Lauenna Garn, Lorna (Dean) Evans, Adele (Ray) Anderson and by 23 grandchildren and 49 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her brothers Frank, Harold, Verl, Denton, and Ariel and by a grandson,Tyler Atkinson.

The family would like to thank the Franklin County Home Health, Sunrise Park and the Heritage Home for their loving care of their mother.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014, at Noon at the Preston South Stake Center, 55 E. 1^st S., Preston with Bishop Jim Summers conducting.  Friends may call Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East, Preston and Tuesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the stake center.  Interment will be in the Clifton, Idaho Cemetery.  Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com
