Cathy Gordon Hardy

Cathryn Hardy (Gordon), 72, passed away peacefully, Wednesday morning, August 24, 2022.  Cathy made an early appearance into this world on March 4, 1950, in Logan, UT.  Born 2 ½ months early and weighing 2lbs 14oz she was a fighter from the moment she came to earth.  Cathy was the 4th child of a large family and grew up in Lewiston Utah on her family’s dairy farm.  She was an immediate hit among her older sibling and her sparkle and cute smile were infectious.  Cathy worked hard from a very early age and learned many of her skills and talents from her life on the farm.  She attended Skyview high school and graduated in 1968, and later attended Beau Larane Beauty College.  Cathy was good at business and when she graduated from college she started her own beauty shop in Richmond, Utah. Cathy married the love of her life, Dale Hardy on June 1, 1979, and they were inseparable for 40 years of marriage, until his death in 2019.  Cathy and Dale bought a house in Preston Idaho, where they raised their two children, Alisa Nicole Hardy and Anthony Dale (Krystle) Hardy.  Cathy worked testing cows and enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, and extended family, cooking, playing cards, and laughing together.  Cathy worked hard for her family, and she was a good friend, she was always there to help when help was needed.  Cathy had many struggles with her health throughout her later life and spent the last 13 years in the Franklin County nursing home.  Cathy’s optimism was contagious, and she was a favorite among many of her caregivers and she loved them in return.  She often asked about their lives, children, and goals, and she was invested in them personally.   She worked hard to stay in contact with her greatest joys, her two children, and their kids, her precious grandkids. Stephanie Lucille Hardy, Mason Dale Hardy, Finley George Hardy, Quincy Nicole Atkinson, and Kaydee Quinn Atkinson made her smile every day and she was proud of their many accomplishments.  They will miss her funny stories and the way she could make them laugh.  As we all find happiness in her reunion with Dale, we are sad for the loss of her larger-than-life personality, sweet smile, and easy way of bringing joy, she will be missed daily.  Cathy is preceded in death by her parents Ross and Hazel Gordon, Her brothers Foster John Gordon, George Gordon, Drew Gordon, and Brent Gordon, and sister Lois (Garn) Bodily.   Cathy is survived by her sisters Ilene (Jodi) Palmer, Paula Gordon, Maureen (Carlos) Elwood, Carole (Ken) Smith, and her brother Grant (Kallin)Gordon.  She has left many nieces & nephews whom she loved.  The family would like to thank the Franklin County nursing home for their constant care and love of their beloved Cathy.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 2, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 S. 800 E., Preston, Idaho.  Viewings will be held Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the Preston 3^rd Ward Church, 155 N. 2^nd W., Preston and Friday from 11:30 a.m-12:30 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home.  Interment will be in the Franklin Cemetery.  Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at webbmortary.com
