Casey Lynn Draney

Casey Lynn Draney passed away at his home in Whitney, ID on Sep. 12, 2014 at the age of 57.  He was born in American Fork, UT on Nov. 9, 1956 to Asa Vernon and Helen Justison Draney.   He was one of the six “Draney Boys” raised in American Fork.  He met and married his high school sweetheart Cheryl Jacobsen in 1974 and just celebrated their 40^th anniversary.  They raised six children together in their home in Orem, UT. 

Casey spent most of his career at Geneva Steel and later graduated from The Fred House Academy and worked at the Utah State Prison.  For the last seven years, they made their home in Preston, ID where Casey worked for the Cache County Jail and was currently employed at Presto and as an Auxiliary Police Officer for Preston City.   Casey’s greatest joy in life was his family.  He loved hunting, fishing, camping, or anything where they were together. 

He is survived by his wife Cheryl, daughter Missy Streadbeck(Clint); sons Corby(Mandy),  Shawn(Jodi),  Jessey(Heidee), Chase, and Colton; 16 grandchildren; dogs Maggie and Pixie; and brothers Jim(Beverly), Dan(Maryanne), and Kevin(Sue); father-in-law Leroy Jacobsen(Angela)

Preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law, Glenda Wright, brothers, Asa Jr and Kelly, as well as son-in-law, Jason Fenton.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Sep. 18, in the Sunset Hills LDS Chapel at 1152 N. 400 W. American Fork, UT at 12:00 noon.  A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East in Preston and Thursday prior to the service from 10:00-11:30am at the church 1152 N. 400 West in American Fork.  Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com.
