Carolyn Spackman Fisher Fiske, 77, passed away March 26, 2013, in Lawrence, Kansas. Carolyn was born in Richmond, Utah, December 25, 1935, to Evan Henry and Wanda Bateman Spackman. Carolyn worked as a secretary at the sugar factory in Lewiston, Utah, while a high-school senior and graduated from North Cache High School in Richmond, Utah, in 1954. She married Leon Fisher in 1954 and moved to Pocatello, Idaho; they were later divorced. Carolyn worked for 20 years as a secretary for Farmers Insurance and was involved with the National Secretary Association, holding many leadership positions within this affiliation. In 1980 she went to work for the Union Pacific Railroad in Pocatello, Idaho. She married Ray Fiske in 1982 and moved to Kansas; they were later divorced. She worked as a supervisor for the Federated Rural Electric Insurance Company in Kansas until the age of 70. Carolyn enjoyed her late retirement with friends and family by going on a cruise to the Caribbean, spending time with her granddaughter and her family in Kansas, and shopping with her daughter, Cindy, during their many visits between Idaho and Kansas. Carolyn is survived by a sister, Marva Dawn Spackman Alvey (Gail); daughter, Cindy Hepworth (Tom); granddaughter, Amber Ovard (James); two great-grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, Lydia Carolyn, soon to be born; nieces and nephews; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Evan and Wanda; and a sister, Margene. Visitation will be held at the Webb Mortuary, 1005 South 800 East, Preston, Idaho, on Friday, April 5, 2013, from 9:30-10:30 a.m., with graveside services held at 11:00 a.m. in the Richmond, Utah Cemetery.
