Carmen Jean Snyder

Carmen Jean Snyder, 83, passed away on Aug. 15, 2014, at the Legacy House in Logan, Utah.  She was born Oct. 27, 1930, in Preston, Idaho the daughter of Joseph Melvin and Serene Owens Snyder. 

 

She served in the Western States Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She also served as a stenographer for President David O. McKay.  She received a Bachelor’s Degree from Utah State University and did graduate work at the University of Utah.  She taught school at the Intermountain Indian School.  She was also a teacher/counselor for troubled teens in the Granite School District.  She also worked later as a Mentoring Coordinator at Cache High School.  She loved dancing and the arts.

 

She is survived by many nieces and nephews and by a sister-in-law, Norma Dahl of Salt Lake City, Utah.  She was preceded in death by her parents; by a brother, Owen Snyder; and by two sisters, Carol Morgan and LaRue Morrison.

 

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Aug. 22, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East, Preston, Idaho.  Friends may call Friday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the mortuary.  Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.  Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com
